Extending our green efforts to include the tiles we distribute, the majority of Ames’ European tile suppliers practice environmentally friendly manufacturing processes, producing tiles we have branded as ecotile® at Ames.

PRE—CONSUMER RECYCLED CONTENT: This is material that was waste created by the manufacturing processes and then returned to the production line. For tile, this could mean reusing dust that has been vacuumed and accumulated, or grinding up scrap tile.

POST—CONSUMER RECYCLED CONTENT: Material created by consumers after a product has reached the end of its use. This material is diverted from the landfill and utilized in the production of other commodities.

The ecotile brand is given to products that satisfy ALL of the following requirements:

• Manufactured using environmentally friendly process
• Manufacturing facility has been accredited by a 3rd party green certification program
• Accreditation standards are audited regularly to ensure best practices
